Travel Study
- Mexico (PoliSci/Soc/Spanish
491/691) will be offered for the Fall 2009 semester. During the first two
weeks of January, 2010, students and faculty in the course will travel to
Oaxaca, Teotitlán, Pluma Hidalgo, and Puerto Escondido, Mexico.This course
will be available for both Political Science, Sociology , and Spanish credit.
It is also available for Letters and Sciences Interdepartmental Travel Study
credit (291).
Faculty
leading the course will be Anne Hamilton, Political Science, and Jo Ellen Burkholder, Sociology.
The theme of the course is globalization with special emphasis on Mexico. The class will meet six times during the fall semester on Thursday evenings during November and December. The rest of the class periods will be held in Mexico.
Cost: The cost of the trip will be approximately $2,300. This includes air-fare, hotels, tours, land transportation inside Mexico, and food for ten days.
